Pharmacology prep, wherever you study.
The same mechanism-first method everywhere, with the local licensing exam, regulator and brand names that differ by country.
Why the country matters less than you think
The pharmacology is identical wherever you sit. A beta-1 receptor behaves the same in Lagos, Manchester, Toronto and Sydney, so mechanism, receptor pharmacology and the reasoning behind adverse effects are worth learning once and reusing. What changes at a border is the layer wrapped around that pharmacology: which body examines you, what format they use, which formulary applies, how drugs are scheduled, and which brand names are in common use. Preparation splits cleanly into a portable core and a thin local module, and treating both as one body of revision is the most common planning error.
the UK
UK pharmacy students meet pharmacology across the MPharm and have to carry it from second-year modules through to the registration assessment years later. PharmBit teaches the mechanism once so it holds for both.
Examined by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) through the GPhC registration assessment. Study in the UK →
Canada
Canadian pharmacy students work through pharmacology and therapeutics across the PharmD, then face the PEBC Qualifying Examination after graduating. PharmBit teaches the mechanism once so it serves both.
Examined by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) through the PEBC Qualifying Examination. Study in Canada →
Australia
Australian pharmacy students study pharmacology through the BPharm or MPharm before the intern year and its written exam. PharmBit teaches the mechanism once so it carries from coursework into registration.
Examined by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) through the Intern Written Examination. Study in Australia →
Nigeria
Nigerian pharmacy students carry pharmacology through the B.Pharm or PharmD before the pre-registration year and PCN registration. PharmBit teaches the mechanism once so it holds across both.
Examined by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) through the PCN registration examinations. Study in Nigeria →
Sitting more than one
Candidates who move between systems often find the science familiar and the examination unfamiliar at the same time. Build one deep mechanism core that you maintain continuously, then attach a separate local module close to each sitting, because legal and formulary detail is easier to confuse when two jurisdictions are studied side by side. Our comparison of all five boards sets out what transfers and what does not, and the exam preparation hub maps our content onto each one.
